i forgot to include one very important detail in my update section at the end re: Dewy & Gale !!!
Gale may have been annoying much like most reporters, but in rewatching it, she was absolutely correct and just doing her job and WELL.
Dewey....oh Deputy Dewey Boy... listen. He reminds me of someone i used to know - like SCARILY so. never seen a more accurate doppelgänger... every time he comes up i just see someone else and i hateeee it 😂 but i shouldn't take it out on Dewey lol i do apologize buddy

“My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me.” Stu is my favorite horror villain probably ever.

Fun fact: Stu's lines "You fucking hit me with the PHONE, DICK!" and "My mom and dad are gonna be so mad at me" were both improvised by Matthew Lillard. I think the phone bit wasn't even scripted; it happened by accident and Lillard's improv was kept in.

 Couple notes:

He was already in the house when he called Sydney at the beginning. You can hear something in the closet when she walks by before she goes to take a nap, and she even glances at it.

Also, Drew Barrymore was in all the promotional material, seemingly going to be the main actress, but she thought it'd be better if they killed her off instantly to set the stakes.

FUN FACT: When Tatum burns Dewey and says, "The Janitor is your superior," she's not wrong. The film's director, Wes Craven has a cameo as "Fred" The Janitor. He also directed A Nightmare on Elm Street, hence the Freddy costume.
BONUS FUN FACT: Rose McGowan (Tatum) could actually fit through the cat door just fine.

Billy & Stu also broke the unspoken rule in horror movies: Don’t mess with the rules to your own advantage. And Billy did that by sleeping w/ Sidney, when he’s one of the killers. Since he did that knowing it’s against the rules to have sex in a horror movie, he brought his own death upon himself

I love what this movie does with the killer reveal, because the movie goes "This guy is the killer" so much that as an audience member you go "Okay, it's gonna be someone unexpected, they wouldn't make it so obvious" and then nope, it was him all along. It's like when an answer is obvious on a test and you start to second guess yourself.

So your favorite scene when he's on the couch saying behind you is even better when you realize he's saying jamie behind you referring to the actress Jamie lee Curtis who plays Laurie Strode in halloween. The guy who is on the couch Randy Meeks is played by Actor Jamie Kennedy so the fact he's saying Jamie behind you is just brilliant

I love when Randy (Movie Rental Guy) is watching Halloween and he's begging "Jamie, look behind you!" as Ghostface is approaching him from behind. What makes that moment even more meta is that Randy is played by JAMIE Kennedy.
