The green minerals are likely due to hydrothermal alteration from the fluids that brought in that quartz. Hydrothermal fluids can alter minerals or deposit new ones all together. Green in those areas is usually epidote, chlorite, or serpentine. I’d need a closer look to see what it is. But chlorite acts as a ligand, which helps dissolve gold into the fluids so if there is quartz and chlorite, it’s a good sign for gold too. But there are a lot of variables in what makes gold deposit, and for that explanation you need a real life economic geologist. Economic geology is the one class I regret not taking. I’m just a basic geologist.

Quartz, quartzite, all Silicates, SiO2, with some variant trace elements in quartzite. Quartz is formed in the upper lithosphere, while gold accumulates in the lower lithosphere. Most quartz is created from lower alumino-silicates like orthoclase, plagioclase of Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium and Calcium Silicates that are dissolved in hydrothermal ventings that flow upward. As these hydrothermal vents are lower than the gold " amassings ", the dissolved quartz waters - say high mineral water content - like hard water - has a higher melting point than softer (cleaner) hydrothermal water. This heat melts the gold at 1948+ F, and flows up with the hard water and quartz. When it reaches these higher lithosphere (and colder geology) the quartz (and even further down quartzite) will cool and amass into upper quartz and lower quartzite veins. Herein lies the truth, that silicon dioxide quartz is easier to find gold within, than say tectonic or volcanic gold (i.e. north-central Wisconsin mountain range). As this appears on a down slope bottom, wetlands, the dip of the quartz/quartzite vein shows (what appears) to be a southern dip, tilted, and displaying this singular semi-large source of quartz. How much of this tilted quartz vein was tilted from the Canadian Shield glaciation, pressures, grinding down, shoving and scrunching the geology with 1-2 MILES of glacial ice atop it. This could be its reason for tilting.

The other point to be made is that the (said) dinosaur asteroid killer event (actually a nearby supernova sending star core fragments impacting the Earth as black bodies (stoopid physics calls them black holes - that are not HOLES !!!). These star core fragments, listed in the Herzberg-Russell (-Lord !) diagram, shows that one category of supernova will blow off its stellar engine (cold and hot fusion within the lower photosphere and upper chromosphere). All that is left, proving this statement is a (said) black hole by physics terms, but is a massive supercompacted black body. Those (now discovered - by me) FIVE + black body impacts as siblings to the Yucatan Chicxulub impact zone in the Gulf of Mexico (er um Gulf of America !!!) had others impact locations of the Rockies all the way up to the Pacific Northwest down to the Oregon-California border with FIVE super magma chambers of the Siskiyou-Klamath mountain range (comparable to the sibling Yellowstone black body impact and its FIVE super magma chambers. All this 66 MYA event, started all plate tectonics on the planet.

What was once the Rockies volcanic island arc was originally at an W-E alignment near its nearby sibling Yucatan impact site. This was the western sub-continental landmass known as Laramidia. On the eastern tip of this volcanic island arc, was part of the most-southern ancient first generation Appalachia, eroded, and now our Appalachia (as the eastern sub-continental landmass) had the original first generation of the Sierra Nevadas in the Florida region. With the start of North American plate tectonics, the Farallon plate was created, and pushed north and east, while Laramidia was spun 90 degrees into our current N-S alignment of the Rockies and Sierras. Uplifting the Rockies now dry, into 4-5 miles in elevation (!). Our current Rockies have eroded away the majority of the Rockies and this 4-5 miles of solid and continuous landscape. The Sierras were not affected by the Farallon plate and remained in their original first generation eroded status. The Farallon plate, as far as Wisconsin is concerned, slide under the northern states and uplifted them as well as 2-3-4-5 miles in elevation, while the erosion and hydrology created the drainage of the Missouri-Mississippi watershed down to Texas and Louisiana. In between this new alignment of the Laramidia and Appalachia sub-continents there was (still is) a massive trench and volcanic/tectonic zone that was also W-E alignment, must north of Laramidia at the equator. This was also spun and its remains (still active volcanic and tectonic forces) of the Western Inner Seaway from these eastern slopes of the Rockies all the way to the Ohio River valley, ... when the Farallon plate contacted the bedrock of Appalachia, broke at the western coast proto-shoreline, starting the Ring of Fire and subducting under the Pacific Cascades and coastal mountains. The Farallon plate, like a metal spatula side under half of the Midwest, cutting off the lower sedimentary and metamorphic (and volcanic lava and such rock strata, creating further contact metamorphosis) from the upper sedimentary and metamorphic strata. Such portions under Wisconsin were severed and cut off as well to any quartz and gold veins from other large hydrothermal ventings after this period. All this happened in the 66-40 MYA Farallon plate event. So what you see in Wisconin are such equatorial ancient seabedding, that has been uplifted, and eroded. So this quartz/quartzite veins with potential gold is pre-40 MYA shinies. As the Farallon plate slipped through and under the Wisconsin portion of the eastern portion of this ancient Western Inner Seaway, all of this was horizontal bedding. This quartz vein tilting then is not plate tectonics of 66-40 MYA

I want to say thank you I started watching your channel and it pushed me to go out and buy the equipment I needed to go out and enjoy myself see I became an amputee a few years back and even though I never stopped moving I had to stop some of the things that made me happy so recently I made a trip to Seattle to visit my oldest daughter it was a long trip from Louisiana but I made it why I was there and with the help of my oldest daughter I pushed myself to get down to the river and after a few hours of extreme work I actually found a little flower gold but I would have never tried this with watching you because you make it look so fun and enjoyable again thank you

Those quartz cracks are part of the glaciation process with 1-2 miles of Canadian Shield glacier sitting atop it and literally breaking it apartwith micro-cracks in the crystals, later to develop more and more cracking (glacial "fracking").
