I built the same microservice in Rust, Go, and ASP.NET. One of them used 357 MB at idle.

Glad this reached 1k views! 🚀 For those asking about the setup: all benchmarks were run on a Mac Mini (M4 Chip, 24GB RAM) using podman.<br><br>AI voice still WIP (squashing those pesky audio repeats rn 😂), but had to drop this data FAST. Next one&apos;s cleaner! 💻

There is some misconfiguration or memory leak in .NET app. The GC spike is too big

Hello Everyone, i am planning a V2 of this video, featuring improved audio and video quality. I also plan to include more code and more rigorous testing, ensuring that more of the implementation is shown on Video. What do you suggest I focus on for this benchmark?

.NET Have Native AOT, if you enable Native AOT it will reduce the app size, memory usage, latency all significantly, and huge performance improvement.

In .NET, if the GC is using STW, you are doing something painfully bad. If used 350mb, pretty sure you caused a memory leak.

We had only a 5% of difference in req/seg comparing same api with Go and Rust serving non-db data (Go won). <br>Then was a DB bottleneck so none won there. Ram usage is minimal in both cases (at least for us). <br>Both languages are easy to write, Rust is beautiful but we picked Go for compliance checks and maintenance

&quot; No ORM mapping&quot; in Rust? What do you call naming the structs and their properties the same as the tables and their columns?
