Steve was missing on the Pop album, he could have turned a few tunes into pop anthems !!😮

Eno kind of started to specialise in drumming after my life in the bush of ghosts

So nice to finally see Steve Lilywhite. I remember it to this day the first time I listened to Waterfront. I was in college & working in a gas station. (Petrol for you guys). It was a graveyard shift on a Sunday night. And the local radio station played Waterfront for the first time before the record  was actually released. It might have been October or November of 1983. When Derek’s baseline started the song, the hairs on the back of my neck were raised. I knew then it was going to be a special song. Then Mel’s gargantuan drums kicked in and I was like : “Wow!! This is so fu**ing different than anything I have heard before!” …. By the way Steve, that Hashish you were smoking came from the land of the Taliban 😂.

I so wish Steve Lillywhite had produced another Big Country album after Steeltown.  The Seer was a good album but it needed his expertise.
