Really enjoyed this one, Xim! 😄📱📷 I especially like these videos where you actually go out, explore markets and fairs, talk to people and show what the technology scene is like on the ground instead of simply sitting behind a desk comparing specifications. You often discover products, companies and little details that most of us would never even think to search for online.

The second-hand phone market was particularly interesting to me. Personally, I still usually prefer buying new, especially if I can find a slightly older model at a much cheaper price, because then I know the battery and device history from day one. But watching markets like this definitely makes me think second-hand phones aren’t a bad option at all. If you can properly check the condition and the price difference is significant, it seems like a very viable way to pick up an older flagship or an interesting Chinese model for much less money. I could honestly imagine buying another phone from one of these markets someday 😄

I also smiled when you mentioned buying the DJI Action 3 for your videos because I recently bought the DJI Action 4 Adventure Combo for my own future travel and vlogging. I deliberately chose the Adventure Combo because I wanted the extra batteries and accessories for longer filming days. Although I quickly discovered that buying the camera itself is only the beginning 😂 I still wanted a protective case/frame, extra mounting options and even a small magnetic light for darker environments.

And actually, I think choosing an Action 3 or Action 4 today instead of automatically chasing the newest generation makes a lot of sense. I absolutely love chasing technology myself there is always another phone, camera, sensor or feature tempting us 😂 ,but at some point I think we have to remember that we don’t need the newest camera to make ourselves happy or our viewers happy.

A great angle, interesting location, genuine reaction, storytelling and simply noticing something other people walk past can matter far more than having the latest camera. Someone with an older Action camera and a genuinely interesting idea can easily make a better video than someone carrying the newest flagship without knowing what they actually want to show.

I’m also quite happy sticking with the Action 4 because I personally prefer having more control over the image instead of relying too heavily on increasingly aggressive automatic processing or HDR-style looks. Newer generations obviously have advantages, and internal storage is convenient, but for serious filming it’s still fairly limited anyway, so realistically you’ll probably carry a microSD card regardless.

And depending on the deal, an Action 3 or 4 setup can now be dramatically cheaper than buying the newest Adventure Combo. Sometimes I’d rather put that extra money into batteries, microphones, lighting, mounts or simply travelling somewhere interesting enough to film. That feels like a much bigger upgrade to the actual content.

The part about trade fairs caught my attention too. I really like exhibitions because you can stumble across products and companies you’d never discover through ordinary online research, and sometimes the conversations with the people behind those products become even more interesting than the products themselves.

I’m actually thinking about visiting MEGA SHOW in Hong Kong this October while I’m travelling in Asia. Since you also enjoy fairs and exploring technology, it feels like exactly the sort of place where there could be loads of interesting things to film. Who knows, maybe our DJI cameras will somehow end up wandering around the same exhibition one day 😂📷🇭🇰

That’s probably one of the things I enjoy most about your channel. It doesn’t feel like a conventional tech channel where everything has to be perfectly filmed in a studio and reduced to benchmarks. You actually go outside, explore China, markets, shops and fairs, meet people and let us discover things alongside you.

Technology is moving ridiculously fast, and I’ll probably never completely stop chasing it myself 😂, but videos like this are also a good reminder that the newest device isn’t automatically the one that creates the best memories or the best content. Sometimes an older phone or action camera, a good eye, the right angle and genuine curiosity are more than enough.

Keep these explorations coming, Xim! 🙌📱📷🇨🇳
