  I really like how Ebay takes their &nbsp;percentage after shipping and taxes are added. Anybody catch that. I been on ebay 18 years.

  I turned all of my promoted listings off all at once, and my store got shelved immediately. I turned them back on after 3 weeks and my store is SLOWLY picking up, but it seems I lost a good amount of momentum. I think they anticipated this and planned to punish stores that did turn them off.

  If your selling an item that a lot of other people are selling, promotions help show your listing at the top of search. If you have niche products or unique items, you don’t need promotions

  Yes I did also, turned off all of mine in the past week. &nbsp;I was promoting at 8% and there was no real boost in sales, and now that Ive turned it off there has been no change in the crappy sales I have anyway.

  I turned off promoted listings on everything (was at 2% for every listing) and I went from 5 sales a day to 0 sales a day. And after about 4 straight days of no sales (unheard of) I gave up and turned all the listings back on, and 30 minutes later I got a sale. Feeling defeated.

  Thanks for the info and advice. &nbsp;As a buyer, I always scroll past the promoted listings because I want to see the lowest priced items, so I&apos;ve always been skeptical of the value of promotions. &nbsp;As a small seller, I did notice that impressions rose when I started promoting, but the new policy is such a money-grab that I want to join you in showing my objection. &nbsp;Thanks for providing a great economic case for turning them off!

  I’ve never had to promote listings. Last year was my best on record. This year is my worst on record. eBay is really starting to suck and be overly greedy.Profit margins are getting thin and making me want to quit after 15 years.

  If everyone turns off promoted listing I expect they are most definitely going to increase fee percentage next year to compensate. In my opinion promotional listings were created to offset any major fee increases. As a company they will find ways to increase revenue every year. Flat or low profit is not good enough sadly. Without any real competition in the market place sellers will continue to lose money each year. Shareholders are what is most important to them - not sellers.
