I have been treated (poorly early on -- with bad psych drugs which I’m now off) for anxiety and trauma, which did exist, but after some years of great therapy that I began in 2020, the nightmares, hypervigilance, and panic have stopped. I’m mentally balanced and mostly at peace -- but still have issues that I now believe are related to hormonal imbalances created by an oophorectomy at age 23. I’m slowly reintroducing the hormones that my body has lacked for decades, and am both sleeping and feeling better, but testosterone is the last one to add. I’m a little nervous about it, but determined to know myself as I might have been had I kept my natural hormones during young and middle adulthood. Thank you so much for helping me to understand all this -- it’s been invaluable!

There’s a lot of talk around T and hair loss. Although a very personal journey, hair loss is only associated with larger doses of T than the usual pea sized amount. I was on HRT for a couple of years before deciding to introduce T. Within weeks my hair growth significantly increased. A lot of dormant hair follicles especially on my head, fired up again. I now have more hair than I can ever remember. My HRT doctor couldn’t explain why this was happening but it’s the only change I made at that time in my life. Also for what it’s worth, I didn’t get excessive hair growth in the place I put T.

I’m so frustrated that in the UK that “normal” women’s levels are from 0.0!! So what on earth is low?

I am so fortunate to have a NP who prescribes Androfeme! I have PCOS but I can feel the effects of additional testosterone slowly increasing my motivation to move. it is incredible! My husband nearly has his happy wife back. I am ecstatic for both of us!
