  Absolutely stellar summary of the SIPS construction technology.  SIPS is a relatively simple structural panel approach, where attention to detail is paramount at the seams, so that it doesn't end up falling apart at the seams...literally.  It's the method I will probably use to design and build my first custom home.

  I built my house out of these panels back in 1996. I highly recommend them. Had a boom truck and a front end load plus five people. We put my 2,700 sf house in the black with felt on the roof in four days. 6.5” wall x 8.5” roof.

  Thanks for this video. I would recommend an update to this video to include water mgmt for SIP construction in hot, humid climates (gulf south).

  Building science meets practical construction applications! Great overview. Our technical division was part of the team that helped get SIPS approved in the IRC/IBC in the late 70&apos;s, and have lived through projects where proper attention to detailing isn&apos;t adequately conducted by installers.Your simple points and key installation notes are extremely valuable! One thing to note, in many applications standard house wraps are acceptable, particularly on wall panels. However, &nbsp;in wetter/cold climates and low slope roofing we have technical bulletins that detail various assemblies and product options that can help with water management as your video mentions. Thank you for your expertise!

  I built a SIP home in 1996, it is still in perfect condition including the Stucco exterior. Keep in mind just like other construction methods the outer skin is still a wood product.

  I&apos;ve been looking into making my own timber frame home. And sips + proper barriers has been the only thing I&apos;ve been stuck on properly understanding and applying. This clears things up a huge amount! Thanks for the video!
