  Final Fantasy VII was the game that put the PS1 over the top vs the N64 in North America. And I mean that in the most literal sense.<br><br>People forget this now, but the N64 actually had the lead in its first year of head-head competition with the PS1. The two were almost even in sales units despite the PS1’s head start, and the N64 had outsold its competition every single month prior to September 1997.<br><br>What happened that September? The release of FFVII, complete with an advertising campaign unlike anything ever seen for a video game that also doubled as a console showcase. <br><br>The PS1 never again trailed the N64 in monthly sales units.

  I know it&apos;s the most &quot;Casual&quot; Answer, But after playing FFVI, VII, VIII, IX &amp; X multiple times over the years, I&apos;ve honestly come to the conclusion that FFVII is my favorite one. There&apos;s just something special about FFVII, To me I feel like it gets the perfect balance between the Fantasy &amp; Sci-fi side of things. It has this incredible atmosphere that is just unmatched for me. Also just has the most &quot;Moments&quot; &nbsp;Throughout, The way it&apos;s structured makes for the most unforgettable experience. Midgar, Cloud&apos;s flashback, The Gold Saucer, The Icicle Inn, Aerith&apos;s Death, Going into Space, Hijacking the Submarine, Fighting the Weapons, There&apos;s just so many memorable things that happen in FFVII &amp; SOOOO much to do that it pulls me into its world in a way that the other titles from that era as incredible as they are just don&apos;t really do. Even putting all that aside, I also just find it&apos;s gameplay the most snappy &amp; engaging as well. I LOVE the Limit Break system along with the Materia system, I love the freedom of customization it allows for &amp; I think the game does an EXCELLENT job of having all sorts of unique Materia obtained through exploring it&apos;s world. Finally, In my honest opinion FFVII has one of the most consistently incredible OSTs of any game. Like it&apos;s music does an immaculate job of capturing the vibe &amp; Tone of every location &amp; Scenario from start to finish. Man I love this game so much, One of the few games that I feel 100% deserves the love and attention it gets.

  I almost forgot about the final fight with Sephiroth after defeating One Winged Angel. Cloud is so angry hes in constant limit break Omni Slash after Omni slash it felt so good!
