When China builds major infrastructure projects, their strategic value can be far greater than their immediate practical value. If you look at Chongqing’s geographic position, you can understand why the city is so important. <br> <br>Outsiders may wonder what the point is of building such enormous railway stations and transportation hubs. But in wartime, these transport networks can become a rapid means of moving troops and supplies. <br> <br>That is part of China’s long-term strategic thinking.

Amazing station considering there are few car parks, it relates to the culture, if that was in the US it would only have car parks surrounding it, mind you Americans don't use trains that much.
