Addiction of Amazon shift to deals for spools of filament. Love it. Been printing for over 5 years. Welcome to the community!

Lessons I learned about FDM printing: <br>1. Never touch the print plate with your bare hands. The natural oil your skin produces can and will prevent bed adhesion. Use gloves or a cloth. I use a cheep shop micro fibre cloth. <br>2. Always clean the print plate AFTER EVERY PRINT else bed adhesion will gradually be lost. I use Dawn Powerwash and a soft bristle tooth brush my dentist gave me after a cleaning. After the print plate is clean, run it under hot water to rinse off the soap and any detritus. <br>3. The moisture for <b>PLA</b> filament matters more for the storage of the filament because PLA doesn't absorb moisture quickly like other filament types. If your PLA filament is brittle, it was likely stored for a long time (not necessarily by you) in a moisture rich environment. When your print fails, it is very rarely due to moisture when printing in PLA - Bed adhesion for your object OR for the supports are the first thing to check. <br>4. Look up and practice maintenance for the brand and model of your 3d printer. DO NOT use WD-40 or any other lubricant unless stated by the manufacturer. <br>5. 80% of the help on 3d printers online is regurgitated BS. 90% of which is people screaming you didn't dry the PLA filament. <br>6. Silk PLA: Print the final layer(s) slow for a gloss finish, fast for a matte finish<br>7. Supports. Always always use supports unless there are zero overhangs or bridges. There are several YouTube videos on how to tune the support settings for easy removal. <br>8. ABS/ASA filament. You poor sick bastard. Don't even attempt unless your printer is enclosed and is ventilated outside of your house especially if you have a spouse or similar. They will have a spot in the back yard and a shovel with your name on it if you do. <br>9. If your printer supports variable height layers, use it on any print you care about hiding the layer lines else you will be sanding and sanding<br>10. If your printer supports ironing, remember it is only helpful on the top layers that produce a FLAT surface. It will not not help with that basketball you're printing simply because you want it. <br>11. If you plan on painting the PLA object, use a grey, white or black filament. The paint won't stick unless you use a primer. No, the paint & primer spray cans do not adhere to the pla well. Stick to white, grey or black. The primer spray can from your local hardware store will work just fine.<br>12. After you receive a shipment of filament, plan on ordering more soon, especially if you're starting out. <br>13. When you do order filament, pay close attention to the KG of each spool. Some suppliers will sell 5 different color spools but they are 250g each. <br><br>As always, YMMV

Its funny to me that he suggested Elegoo for being "open source" when its under fire right now for not actually being open source 😂

As someone who has been 3D printing for many years and modded multiple printers just to make them reliably usable you 100% made a good choice with Bambu. A lot of people in the 3D makers space are super gate keepy and don’t like Bambu for being a walled garden but the walled garden works. I have done zero maintenance. Never have tweaked with settings. And have had such a great experience with my P1S with hundreds of hundreds of print hours. And not only does it just work. It’s incredible quality compared to any other printer.

Awesome job! I’ve been 3D printing for about six years now, and your video was such a breath of fresh air. You nailed what it’s like getting into 3D printing from a beginner’s angle. Your video was clear, fun, and didn't assume people already knew the lingo. You really captured the whole experience.

So there are two primary filament types people use, PLA and PETG. The fun fact of those two filament types is they don't stick to each other well. If you aren't using all four colors, you can put the other type of filament into one of the slots and then tell the slicer to use it as an interface layer between the supports and the print to make it easier and cleaner to remove those supports.

Another tip for removing prints, take the hot plate off the printer, and lay it on a cool surface (Just like a desk or something that is room temp) and as the plate cools, the filament will let go from the plate. Another huge tip is, WASH your plate occasionally with soap and water. Basically if you get a bunch of greasy fingerprints on it, the prints will stop sticking leading to failed prints, so avoid touching the top of the plate, and wash it occasionally,
