  The Irony of snake oil is that REAL snake oil has some mild medical uses, The guy we get the term "Snake Oil Salesmen" from was selling low quality mineral water and calling it snake oil.

Basically, after America joined WW2, germany got cut off from Coca Cola because the syrup was manufactured in the US and shipped over. So they just kind fumbled around with what they had in the country and created fanta. It got discontinued after the war and got brought back in the late 1900s when Coke wanted a new product. They refined it, added the orange flavor, and boom, Fanta.

Initially it was left to the county level to decide how to implement it, before slowly working its way up to the state, and eventually the national, level. The eighteenth just made it official nationwide and laid out a single standardized code to follow. Prior to that it was entirely possible to get sloshed in one county an no one bats an eye, but the next county over would throw you in the slammer for the week if they spotted you with a beer bottle in public.

  Be wary of caffeine withdrawal if your addicted to it.. had to grab a soda after finding out the hard way that it is way worse than a caffeine crash.
