  Fun fact: Hungary in the 1954 semi finals were the first team to ever beat Uruguay in a world cup match and it came 24 years after Uruguay&apos;s World Cup debut

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E092OA133aM&amp;t=792">13:12</a> Poland repeated the same result in 1982, also in 3rd place, losing only to the World Champion of that year: Italy, and beating France in the match for the 3rd place. In 1974, Grzegorz Lato scored the most goals of that tournament.

  I can&apos;t believe that Spain only reached their first semifinals in 2010 despite consistantly having one of the best teams in the World. Since I&apos;ve been watching World Cup in 1986, Spain had always been considered one of the favorites. I&apos;m very happy for them to have won the 2010 World Cup and for some reason they always fell short in other World Cups. In any way - if there is one European country that I trully wish for them to win the Cup it is the Netherlands. They&apos;ve been in the finals 3 times and almost always go far.

  Its important to note that Bulgaria eliminated France in 1993&apos;s qualifiers for the World Cup, so from FIFA they did the most logical thing of chosing a French referee for the semi final between Bulgaria and Italy, during which semi final Bulgaria was not given 2 penalties therefore sending Italy to the final. Quite frustrating to this day...

  So when Bulgaria defeated Argentina in 1994 they wasn&apos;t in &quot;their best form&quot;, but when Romania defeated Argentina 2 days later they suddenly become an &quot;impossibly strong team&quot; again, that&apos;s some interesting logic u got there

  You should have mentioned that in 1974 polish striker Grzegorz Lato was a top scorer at this World Cup. Poland also repeated the result in 1982 World Cup and that was also worth mentioning.
