Every city has two histories: the one we can see... and the one buried beneath our feet.

Good documentary, you get insight into the lives of the people buried there--which is why they reference Charles Dickens, who illustrated the plight of the people in the workhouse who were buried there.

The letters and logs really bring the place to life. It would be fascinating and probably very sad to read through them. They should be published to educate the public about our history and past mistakes.

I went to Charles Dickens' house, too, but he wasn't home.

I recommend that people read Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. Read it, don't just watch a movie adaptation.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtteIsP4wV4&t=1851">30:51</a> There used to be a British comedy duo called "Little & Large".

It's really interesting knowing I'd likely be one of the people who lived here their whole life if I lived in that area at that time

It's so sad that they keep referring to the people who lived in the workhouse as inmates. As though being poor or too ill to work was literally a crime.
