Nah this revival really did live up people's expectations while not retconning anything! The whole framing device made a ton of sense and i love that the show is gonna be taking place at different points of the original timeline. JG really did what alot revivals fail to do and for that, he has earned my respect.

The moment Pops transformed into Boba-Pops and said "Bobasious" I immediatly thought: wait a second, did he became "The Mask"??

It is still nice seeing these characters again after their original series finale

The difference between regular show and other rebooted shows is that regular show was already entirely built on nostalgia. The whole charm of the show was being a throwback to the 80s and 90s. So of course they were able to keep that nostalgia. I will say they sounded a little rusty on the voices tho but I can’t really blame them for that when it’s been 9 years.

Pops having more memory tapes actually made sense since the universe gets reset multiple times, so it made sense that there are minor adventures from each loop.

It's good to know how the show still keeps its usual tone.

Blade Games reminds me of the episode where Pops told Benson not to yell at Mordecai and
Rigby anymore and they started doing the most ridiculous things.

I'm glad we got to see an Eileen and Margret adventure. Eileen is a woman of action and would have a super niche disguise for infiltration. Margret is just kinda going along with it cuz why not. I love that it isn't like Mordecai and Rigby's relationship. They're their own duo. Eileen has always had the big ideas, Margret likes to be part of the ride.

3:49 because AWOG uses trends vs Regular Show doesn’t. Anyone who watches these shows can tell by the writing on how good or bad they are, PPG is a biggest example of terrible writing and using trends. If these talentless writers couldn’t go for what’s trendy then u would see lot more good shows with better writing

Unfortunately I just moved and haven’t set up cable yet. But the show’s YouTube channel posted the first episode in full. That part where Pops is begging this video store clerk to fix the tape is the perfect example of every fans’ worst nightmare: when your favorite show, movie or whatever IP from the past has been gone with no availability whatsoever and it’s not even remembered enough to have content featured online and eventually you forget about it, possibly for good. And in some cases, all you have left are tapes featuring that IP. And what happens if that tape breaks? Luckily, this didn’t happen to Regular Show; otherwise, we wouldn’t have gotten this sequel series.

It's simply because JG Quintel is the goat of the goats. We need more Close Enough seasons ❤
