Wow, the brutal honesty to put the details of your life on full display, especially with the difficulties you're facing, really gets my respect. Most of these retirement videos on other accounts are just a fun way of them showing off how well theyre doing. Its not advice, its just showing off.
Youre planning ahead and thats all you can do. Best of luck with it.

I told my 13 year old son, the first thing he should do when he has money is to buy a house, pay it off asap, life security.

My wife and I debt spiralled as a consequence of lockdown and loss of business. We had to sell our house, pay off debt, and rent. I’m 55 next month and pretty much have little chance of buying a house again before retirement. Let alone actually being able to retire. The mental strain this places on a person is huge. Thanks for this video. Wishing you the best.

I'm 57 with health problems.i cared for my parents with dementia and my sister with severe learning disabilities until they died.i now work for minimum wage with zero hours... Unfortunately it's all I can get.I rent from a housing association.Fairly cheap rent but there's a different price to pay... I've had a drug dealer for a neighbour and my current upstairs neighbour is subletting to immigrants... I'm a lone woman. So yes cheaper rent but no peace of mind...I try not to worry about the future, but I live frugally and save anything I possibly can.I wish us all well x

My brother in law done all what the crim governments wanted from him in that he put most of his life on hold saving money scirmping and saving, almost hitting tea bags with a hammer, dreaming of what he would do once he intended to retire at 60. The brutal cruelty was he died at 59 with a brain tumour, so what's the takeaway, to my mind its about living for today for that is all we have , but save some money for rainy days just in case, stop watching shite TV and save that money, read and use the time improving one self .

Rent in retirement is in my view going to be one of the coming disasters for society and people. It’s shocking how it isn’t mentioned.
I think that a huge number of people are going to be living in absolute poverty - and they probably don’t even realise it.

I’m 65 - renting, single and still working full time AND overtime - I try not to think about where this ends for me - I plan to work until I drop

I use to rent a house….rent went up and up every year….the landlord was getting nasty to me….I realized the landlord probably wanted me to move…….id done nothing wrong was just growing older every year…I’d been there 10 years and never been late on a payment…..so I decided to buy a house…..that area was way too expensive…..so I found a house in another state…..spent part of my retirement savings for a down payment and moving expenses…..my mortgage payment in lower than my rent was….the house is larger and has a beautiful view…I don’t have a nasty landlord to deal with…..even the weather here is better…I’m much happier here! It was a good move!

I'm in the US and own my own home free and clear. But I still have to pay $4500 a year for insurance and property tax. If I couldn't pay my taxes, I would lose my home. There are no safe havens.

Yep same here. I am 64 and my husband has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. We rent ÂŁ1084.00 plus ÂŁ245.00 Council tax per month. I have not worked for the past 3 years as i was looking after my mum who lived with us and sadly passed away at Easter. I have to say the worry of being made homeless in my ageing years is really giving me sleepless nights. We have our name down with our local council housing list but there is no sheltered accommodation available. Who would ever have thought that people approaching retirement in this country especially renters could end up in a homeless situation. Enjoyed this video, subscribed and clicked the bell.

Please never lease a car. It is such a waste of money. Buy the cheapest used car you can find. In the long run, it saves the most money.
