  Interesting video. Older I get the more I like those clean tones. But I’ve been captured by that Tele sound since Pete Anderson slapped us in the face with it in the 80s.

  Totally agree ... when I was 13, whatever music I heard really stirred my blood.  I wish I was 13 again.

  Us Pentecostal teens had a tough row to hoe. I did latch onto Petra and Mastedon (the Elefante brothers). But that was even frowned upon. Then I got into Tony Rice and Clarence White and the world was right again.

  You are certainly right about amps over pedals, but for most amateur guitar players, who can't afford a good amp or use the volume levels they require to sound good, overdrive pedals are indispensable. To use your own quote, don't let your cleans sound too dirty and don't let your dirt sound too clean. 👍

  I've landed on the Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop as being my favorite overdrive edge of break up type pedal. It's an always on pedal for me. I tried stacking it with another Barbershop to try and get into medium gain territory, but found that putting a Fairfield Circuitry About 900 after the Barbershop is a better way to get a Barbershop with more breakup type of sound. The About 900 is called a fuzz, but it does edge of break up and light overdrive very well.

  my OCD by fulltone always finds its way back to my board but lately im diggin my 50 watt plexi cranked and using the volume knob to go from clean to crazy.
