  love to the families of these men. I honor the crew every year by leading a hike to the memorial site. it is a heartbreaking yet poignant experience each year.

  Sorry but protecting houses should not even be a thought only saving lives. These poor men did not need to die. This is heartbreaking

  I was caught in a fire in 1987 The Lost Fire, Old Station, California in The Lassen National Park I have never been able to find footage or dialouge about that event Please do that story I ve never &nbsp;been interviewed

  The ops man was an arrogant idiot that kept ignoring the desperate calls from Granite Mountain until another crew to answer them. Where he tells them to listen for the plane was way too late. Rest In Peace Gentleman!

  They broke safety rules and people died. &nbsp;Safety rules are only as good as people&apos;s memory. &nbsp;In a few more years we will have another mass casualty because people forgot about the last disaster. Rinse and repeat. People will continue to get more and more complacent until the next tragedy. &nbsp;It takes a constant commitment to a culture of safety.
