  You can really install and use the tor browser everywhere, but I'd recommend using it in a virtual machine for extra safety. If you enter a malicious site on your actual OS the attacker will have an easy time to acces your real IP, and whatever you have on your storage, but if you use a vm the attacker will have to vulnerate the vm first to get to your actual computer. Its like wearing a digital condom.
