Thank you very much! For some QT reason the education version 1.9.11.01 didn't work on Ubuntu 22, so I ended up installing that Gowin EDA version through Wine and it worked flawlessly.

My starting project with the 9k was building a FM stereo modulator outputting in the 100MHz rf band using the oser8 serdes… a fun project, I instantly started to like the board!

Thanks, I appreciate the introduction to this little board. I really want to learn FPGAs, I just have yet to find a good project to apply it to. 😊

For not much more money you can get the rather more capable Tang Primer 20K. You get roughly double the resources, 128MB of DDR3 RAM and an optional base board that can host HDMI and USB among other peripherals.

Thanks for this video. I loaded Intel IDE for a development board - I bought two different boards, one mostly bare and one with Leads and space to add parts. I struggled to get the loader interface to work. Eventually I got the Blaster that worked and got a couple example programs to work. Set that aside for a year so I am starting over though I have good notes.  So, I was wondering if there was another choice. I am a hobbyist retired electrical engineer. Will see.

Don't you also have to turn around three times and sacrifice a goat on the fpga board?
