  When referring to the victim in the opening statement she refers to him as "Baby Dylan" not as "Dylan Groves." She consistently reminds the jury that Dylan was a helpless baby and avoids drawing attention to the familial tie by avoiding his last name. This paints him not as "their baby" but "a baby" and shifts sympathy away from the parents and back where it should be onto Baby Dylan. Subtle but impactful.

  The fact that Julie showed more remorse over a child that wasn't even hers, shows you she is more human than Baby Dylan's parents ever where.

  Its so bizarre that they're acting like he was just a casual boyfriend she roped into helping cover this up, rather than the baby's father that had primary custody

  I think it was brilliant of Julie to be so outraged on the cross. She essentially told the jury (without actually stating it) that they were right to be outraged. That if a lawyer in a court of law can be that offended by these actions, they can be, too.

  Julie cared, stood up, loved and gave Dylan justice as if he was her own son, she made him matter when his parents did none of that. Thank you to Julie, for giving this little soul everything he should have had in life.

  When my son passed at 2, the funeral director was trying to help us out by telling us there was a new infant coffin that would save us hundreds of dollars. We set an appointment and went in to look at it. The minute we walked in, I said NO. It looked like one of those styrofoam coolers you buy at a convenience store. Mind you, it was obviously not styrofoam, but it just gave me chills thinking my baby boy would be in that for eternity. If I wasn’t going to spend another dollar on him for birthday parties, X-mas presents etc, I was going to blow the wad on him now. I can’t even imagine wrapping him up in plastic and putting him in 2 milk crates. This, so called mother, didn’t even bundle him in a blanket. Why did they even fight for this child? They had absolutely no attachment to him. Poor baby!

  The foster mom’s silent crying in the stands, listening to how her baby’s bio parents murdered him is heartbreaking. He should’ve never been given back to those monsters, he was safe and loved so dearly with his foster family.
