  As a Chemical Engineering major, just hearing the word thermodynamics makes me want to crawl into a hole of existential dread

  As a mechanical engineer, everything he said is 100% accurate. 😂 <br><br>Also you should know that I still feel dread whenever anyone mentions “Fluid Dynamics”

  Studying Petroleum Engineering, can say that pretty much everything he said is accurate, especially the Petrol engineers only want money part

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DYNUjcfRTCU&amp;t=428">7:08</a> I think your &quot;not specialized enough&quot; analogy might be exactly it.<br><br>I&apos;m not any kind of engineer, but as I understand it, to build a new kind of robot arm for instance, you need the arm itself (a mechanical assembly), a system of wires and motors and such to change the positions of the mechanical parts (electronics), and some kind of interface so that a human robot arm operator can tell the arm exactly what it should be doing and when (software); and it&apos;s the... mmmmmecha... troni... cist&apos;s... job to make sure that the commands put in via the software are correctly translated into electric signals that push and pull the mechanical arm parts in the way that the operator intended without breaking or straining or overheating anything.<br><br>So the mechatronics expert knows a fair bit about mechanical engineering <i>and</i> electrical engineering <i>and</i> software engineering, while I suppose a <i>&quot;real&quot;</i> engineer would&apos;ve chosen <i>one</i> discipline and and totally mastered it and only it.
