King David wasn't shot by the Stones. One of the D's dropped a rifle at the spot where they hung out in 1969. The bullet hit King David in the back and damaged one of his kidneys. They say KD wasn't taking care of himself like he was supposed to, and that caused the one good kidney to eventually fail.
