  I need the alerts on the bad days when my internet is out usually because of bad weather. &nbsp;Sometimes I lose home internet and cellular internet at the same time. &nbsp;That&apos;s why I have a couple portable TV tuners.

  If drm is blocking me from watching the channel, I won&apos;t have the tv turned on. &nbsp;So, even if they turn off encryption for emergency broadcast message, I would not get them as I would no have the tv on.

  I say again, Broadcasting (one to many), should never require an internet connection (one to one) in order to receive and decode video. &nbsp;If they want to require an internet connection they are a streaming service and not a broadcaster. Give your license to somebody that wants to broadcast. &nbsp;Furthermore a television set should never require a firmware update to receive broadcast.

  I’ve said it MANY times, NO DRM on OTA broadcasts!!!! The FCC MUST deny this. Also, no Internet connection required!!!!

  They want you to have to use an Internet connection so they can know what everyone is watching.

  The rule should be if you want DRM you pay for the frequency of air waves. &nbsp; If you want it free then you can not encrypt AT ALL!

  Lon TV, thank you for keeping us informed. Why would I have a ATSC 3.0 DRM TV station turned on, I can&apos;t watch, just so the broadcasters bypasses the DRM to show the ERS? &nbsp;Sounds so self defeating! They need a law to not allow DRM on OTA free TV.
