Summerslam 1992 was one of the greatest ever PPVs, and proved you didn't need Hulk Hogan for a huge event (and I was a massive young Hulkamaniac). And much as a idolised Hulk as a kid he was starting to feel stale by 1992. Or might just of been me growing up- I'd seen Mike Tyson lose to Buster Douglass by then, Arsenal lose the FA cup semi to Spurs, and loads more reality checks you get as you grow up, as a kid these huge pop icons I thought were unbeatable and suddenly you realise life don't work like that. And Hulk was so huge I imagine Vince was scared to change the formula that had been the catalyst for huge global growth for WWF. 1992 was definitely a hugely transitional year for the WWF business, and there early to mid 90s had global financial issues so business was hard anyway. I think I pretty much gave up on WWF after 1993 until 98/99 when it became entertaining and had strong characters and storylines and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I'm from London UK too (did live in Dallas a bit as a kid and saw WWF live out there, Hulk Hogan Vs Warlord, brilliant memory), but 98 onwards it felt like WWF grew up into an adult at the same time I did. But yeah, 1992 laid the foundations for the future, just took a few years to build property

Actually the whole winner of the Rumble getting a title shot at WM started after 1992. It actually first started in 1993 when Yokozuna won the Rumble to face the Hitman in WM9.

7:26 actually, prior to 1992, winning the Royal Rumble gave you... a Royal Rumble victory. The title shot at Wrestlemania began in 1993

1992 was the year I became a fan and it was magic. Scandals? No Hogan? So what?
