The Red Sox were not going to go into next season with five lefty starters. One of Tolle, Bennett, or Early was going to be traded for a bat and that’s what happened. I like the move and what it represents about the direction of the franchise going forward.

I trust Breslow's assessment of pitching talent. He knows Early and made a tough call. Breslow had an opportunity to turn a controllable pitcher into a controllable right handed batter with slug and contact skills. I like the aggressiveness. Go sox

I hope that there is a trade for a starter coming this week. Then you get better in both areas, overall. Maybe they did dabble in all sorts of other ideas but struck early. We know that he didn't want to get caught waiting until the last minute again.

If Crochet is not in the picture, what do we consider depth after Bello? Seems risky.

Ouch, can't believe we get two plate appearances from Mead before he goes down for a long time. What rotten luck.

The fascination with neto is crazy. He is basically on track to be Trevor Story 2.0.He plays a mediocre shortstop and i’m pretty sure he leads the league in strikeouts. It’s like this obsession with any remotely recognizable name.

Both teams took risks, Boston needed a Major League right handed power and Washington needed a Major league pitcher. Early has all of 21 starts to his career, so let’s not proclaim Red Sox traded away a future Cy Young, you’re definitely over valuing Early. Pete Abraham reported there were 10 right handed hitters with 10 or more Home Runs, so the selection was thin. Cotillo is over reacting. I’d give the trade a B.

Before i listen to this, i am hoping NOT to hear hateful talk about Anthony and Mayer. Do you both wonder why the players despise the media? The Players hate the media because of why you have been talking about the players, trying to stir trouble with the fans.
