My First Time in Mykonos, Greece - Exactly As Expected? 🇬🇷

The time has come for another excursion. This time in the Greek Island of Mykonos located in the Aegean Sea. After starting the day, I was hungry, so the first thing to do was go and get breakfast. I walked from the place I was staying down into the Old Town area. Walking towards the old town wasn't the smoothest as there weren't many pathways, and cars were driving quite close by to me. I made it into the Old Town though, and went to a breakfast cafe called Cosmo. At Cosmo I drank a Freddo Cappucino, and ate a Greek Omelette and Greek Yoghurt bowl. The food was tasty and gave me a much needed boost to continue exploring. After finishing breakfast I continued walking through the Old Town and came across the iconic blue and white buildings that Mykonos is known for. I stopped by a local shop as well. The exploration continued and I went to the Windmills of Mykonos. The breeze here was strong, and was nicely refreshing as it was so hot. Mykonos is known to be the island of wind, so no surprises here. I continued walking towards the area known as Little Venice. Whilst walking across the edge, the water made my feet wet. It is what it is though, that's a part of travel, i.e. sometimes things don't always go to plan. It was hot though, so I wasn't fussed as it would dry relatively quickly. The exploration continued through the narrow streets and I came across a scenic view point - which had a beautiful view of the Windmills in the distance. I carried on exploring and then came across the Holy Church of Panagia Paraportiani / Mykonos Castle. After this I continued exploring the different streets and walked along the Old Harbour and picked up a magnet as well. I was getting hot, so a much needed Ice Cream stop was required, which I got from Terry's Gelateria. The ice cream was tasty but as it was hot, it started melting quite quickly, and I needed to make a stop somewhere to wash my hands. I ended up at a cocktail bar and lounge which was part of a Michelin star service hotel, and I couldn't resist getting another Freddo Cappucino, but also praline pancakes which were amazing. I continued exploring and saw the statue of Manto Mavrogenous, who is a key historical heroine figure in local history. I then ended up at Sakis, a well known local Gyros spot - I got a chicken gyros and it lived up to expectation. I then walked through a shopping street called Matogianni and gave my first impressions. Some hours passed by, it was night time, and I then ate more food at La Petite Taverne.
