  The one thing I take away from this is, we cannot look at the past and judge through the eyes of a person living in 2026, we did not live in that time and we did not experience the political storms of the times, the culture at the time, or how society functioned at that time. I hope future generations can look back and have empathy for our generation and be understanding for the errors we are currently making. This is a tough topic but look how far we have come.

  Thank you for being fair and compassionate with both Brigham Young and Orson Pratt. I think I understand the mental leap Brigham may have taken because &quot;the mark of Cain&quot; wasn&apos;t understood the way we do now, and Egyptus was said to be of the seed of Cain, and Ham&apos;s grandson Pharoah was barred from having the priesthood for the same reason. <br><br>I am in awe at how much knowledge we have at our fingertips, both with thoughtful podcasts and Hebrew scholars, that even my father didn&apos;t have. He would have LOVED the depth of knowledge available for us today!<br><br>I know there were several things I have learned to unlearn from my own childhood, even though my parents weren&apos;t racist like the generation before them; we always felt that all of the children of God were gifted and precious, and we cried with joy when the priesthood ban was lifted.<br><br>I have always felt great honor for those of my brothers and sisters who had a great testimony of the gospel even though they did live with angst and sorrow because of the restriction, often showing greater loyalty to Christ than those of us &quot;whites&quot; who took such gifts for granted. I am in awe of them!

  I have a family pioneer story where the human seller was just going to kill the native american child if he didnt buy her, so he bought her and raised her as a daughter

  As a black member of the church I can’t thank Paul enough for all his years and years of work! <br><br>I love the archive of black saints and book Religion of a Different Color. Pretty sure I’ve consumed everything he’s produced though haha!!! 😂

  One of my hero’s is Elijah Able. Very impressive story. One of the first people I would like to meet on the other side. :-)
