Whatever happened to the nearest star outside of our solar system (Alpha Centauri) being 3.42 light years away? How can there be another one just one light year away?

Just because we need liquid water does not mean there are not life forms in the infinite universe that need it to survive that also goes for air. Those are requirements for life AS WE KNOW IT. Not life period.

Yeah, the title and thumbnail are pure clickbait :p "100x more habitable" isn't even a real metric. There is no planet or exoplanet 1 light-year away, and there's no way for an exoplanet's oxygen to reach Earth. The closest known exoplanet is over 4 light-years away (Proxima Centauri b), and at no point does the video even mention a planet 1 light-year away or oxygen traveling across space from it. Don't know why they'd make that the title when real space discovery is already interesting without inventing outlandish false claims. Pretty sure most of the comments here are bots, too. 😭

A planet technically could be orbiting a small blackhole and you wouldn't be able to see it

The “oxygen could reach Earth” part definitely made me pause. 👀 I actually went down a similar rabbit hole recently… there’s more to this than the title suggests.

Pretty sure this “variable zone” this bot keeps referring to is properly called “the Goldilocks zone” not just habitable zone

So far we've only been looking at M star planets. These are probably all tidally locked and would not be real earth duplicates. Real earth-like worlds will orbit in the habitable zones of low numbered K stars, G stars, and high numbered F stars.
