I made all the elf ears (not to mention nose tips for Gandalf, Wormtounge) for the LOTR movies. Made out of a high grade gelatine mix and cast into individual molds. Gelatine precisely because it starts out transparent and we colour it to look like skin, including the translucency. It’s always been one of my joys in the films to see Galadriel in Lothlorien, and the glow of light through her ears. Made the hours in a small hot room in Weta Workshop for over a year 100% worth it.

Nothing even comes close to the special kind of comfort feeling when I hear them speak Elvish, especially Liv, it truly feels spiritual.

I was one of the many fans that contributed to the production of LOTR, In my extended Return of the King, all contributors where acknowledged with their names, including mine and the rewards were great, I still have the magazines (un-opened because!) and posters they sent me. The biggest reward was being a part from many that wanted this epic made and it was beautiful!

Liv Tyler just seems like such a lovely person - her whole demeanor that's so endearing. Apart from the obvious physical beauty, her voice is genuinely kind, unpretentious, and soothing by itself.
