Please don't hesitate to take a break if you need to, and make sure you are talking with a therapist if not already. Seems like you've been going through a lot of grief lately and having someone to talk to about it would be good. Don't worry about uploading every day if you can't manage it, we will understand.

oh kayla 😭 please take a mental health break love 😭 you’ve been absolutely going through it and we all know and understand that you’re a naturally anxious girlie, so please take care of yourself 💞💞 just remember that the whole sims community rides for you and we want you to feel and be your best 💞💞 take that long break!! do what you can do, not what you think you should be doing 🫶🏼

Simsie don’t pretend you wouldn’t LOVE the chaos of an elders-only getaway where sims are dropping left and right from going on the treadmill 😂😭

having been described as ‘inappropriately giggly’ in a mental health hospital record, i extremely empathize with being a little self conscious about that. we all process differently, and laughing so you don’t cry is sometimes the way we get through. sending care to yall 🩷🩷

You probably don’t read comments much, but Kayla, this is coming from someone who also works herself to the bone. I’ve built my career from scratch in one of the most demanding industries out there. And I’m doing it. But I had to learn the hard way how essential it is to protect my mental health.

I didn’t at first. And it almost killed me... literally.

I know I don’t know you personally. But from what you’ve shared, you strike me as a kind, anxious, principled person. And that combination, especially in today’s world, can become a heavy weight. You feel like you have to keep going. For your audience, for your community, for the causes you care about. And it builds up quietly until it doesn’t anymore.

Watching you leave the EA Creator Network, even though it meant losing income and early access, and changing how you do everything, was one of the most ethically grounded moves I’ve seen from a creator. You didn’t just speak on it. You acted. You’ve also been fundraising for Palestine and helping people register to vote. And while you’re doing all of that, you’re still uploading daily. Still streaming. Still grieving. Still trying to smile.

That’s not nothing. That’s everything.

I’m in therapy now. I’m medicated. I’m stable. And for the first time in a long time, I feel like myself again. If I could tell anyone just one thing, it would be:
Please take care of your mental health before you break.

Once you hit that wall, it’s not impossible to come back, but it’s slow, and painful, and hard. It’s so much easier to go from “tired but supported” back to joy than from full collapse to okay again. I wish I’d started that process before I reached the edge.

Obviously I’m not trying to push you into anything. Maybe what I’m saying doesn’t apply to you at all. But I do hope you know: you’re allowed to rest.

You are one of the most consistent, hardworking creators I’ve ever seen. But I also hope you remember this:
If a friend came to you and said they were feeling the way you seem to feel right now, would you tell them to just push through? Or would you tell them it’s okay to stop and breathe?

I won’t say “we love you,” because I know that’s para-social. But I do think a lot of us have come to admire you through your work. And I believe, genuinely, that your audience would understand. We want you to be okay.

Bye, Kayla and stay safe. You matter more than your output.

kayla i've been a fan of your content for almost a decade and through almost every one of my worst mental health moments, including the loss of my own childhood dog. your presence in my routine has always been a point of stability and comfort when i've gone through something terrible, and i appreciate that so much. i hope things improve for you, and encourage you to do whatever you need for yourself. your community will stand by your side no matter what you choose to stay healthy & okay through everything <333

We all care about you Kayla. Please consider allowing yourself to take a break (without prerecording). We will be here to welcome you back always 💜
Edit, addition: I know that you don’t need our permission to take a break, but I hope this shows you how many people support you ❤️❤️

There’s so much going on lately so I hope you can manage to find time for yourself to fully grieve and process at least some of it. Please don’t be afraid to take a break if you need it, you do so much for your community as is

Oh man, Kayla, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet dog. I lost my childhood cat this year and it’s been a really rough year for me, too, and the stuff about your mental health makes me feel so seen. I feel like I grew up with you and I’m really sorry to hear that we are going through the same stuff but also comforted by it. ❤
