I love that Ariel puts back the accountability on to Ned. Where he says “the incident” She says “your affair” “you hoisted that on me”. It’s great to see she’s been healing

What's absolutely wild to me is how often Ned tries to basically respond "omg same" to every single time that Ariel lists the effects she felt from HIS betrayal. Trying to still play victim and undermine her pain by acting like he experienced it too is so manipulative and disgusting.

Ned and Ariel clearly had two different motives sitting down to do this. Ariel clearly wanted to clear the air and tell the public what adultery really does to a family. Ned however wanted to pry a statement of forgiveness out of Ariel, and possibly even a reconciliation of the relationship. You can tell that he is clearly unhappy that she isn't giving that to him.

Ned couldn't go forward and ask "fans" to leave Ariel out of it, but I remember very clearly Eugene doing it.

Something my therapist said: "if they apologize, it's for their healing and you don't have to accept their apology to heal. If you feel forgiveness is part of your healing, you can forgive them but not necessarily have to let them know. Forgiveness is for yourself and for your own internal healing, not for them."

I think one thing people skip over is that he also is the one that says “we’re seeing other people now” and immediately looks to Ariel to see if that landed a hit and she just goes “yeah 😊” and he definitely didn’t like that.

Him not taking proper accountability towards her even on CAMERA is wild ….. he publicly apologizes to the audience FIRST THING but can barely publicly apologize to her on camera.
