  Thank you for this. I am a life long sailor, racer and  yachtmaster. Transitioning into motor boats, I find most advice here on youtube a bit shallow.  You are the first guy here I can take serious and take advice from. Thank you.

  Check drain plug, Check fuel, secure lockers and hatches, start engine, get it to temperature and put the hammer down.

  Memories!! A small pointy deep v power boat running downwind and accelerating as we climbed the back of the waves, leaping onto the next wave ahead. Until he left the acceleration too late &nbsp;and the boat turned into a submarine! Happy days.

  depending on your hull/ boat design, sometimes crossing at 45 degrees to the swell works better than charging dead ahead

  Right from the start:<br>Have a SECOND KILL LANYARD IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG SO THAT THE CREW CAN PICK ME UP!<br>Being a relative newcomer, NOBODY has ever told me that! So logical!

  Not the ideal conditions for WOT but that would have been nice around 40Knots. Great refresher for us all as we can get complacent and forget the extra kill switch. André
