  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8bKALW8bJM&amp;t=1106">18:26</a> The vast majority of generative AI models are trained off of large swaths of major websites like Twitter, simply because there&apos;s not really another convenient source of the sheer volume of data that a model requires to function.<br><br>The consequence of this, is that EVERYTHING gets scraped. Every shitpost, fanfic, dirty joke, ERP, political agenda, everything gets vacuumed into the training data. The internet is an incredibly vulgar place if you know where to look... or if you scrape entire websites with few regards for quality control.<br><br>Basically any major AI website is already familiar with this issue, and thus employs some form of external filter that recognizes vulgar subjects and blocks the AI from outputting it. To a degree, the AI itself can also be trained to censor itself, but it&apos;s never entirely reliable because it probably has some quantity of nasty data to begin with.<br><br>However, there&apos;s nothing stopping a person with a good-enough computer from simply downloading a half-decent AI model of their own, and running it completely uncensored. The data is always there to some degree, waiting ot be unleashed.
