What I love about "Friends on the Other Side" is all the innuendos Facilier is doing regarding how he is going to turn the Prince into a frog. For instance, saying "hop from place to place", "green is all you need", "in the future, green is what I see", etc. I love the word play he uses.

Keith David sang that song perfectly. Sold it as a car salesman because his character was trying to make a sale. Simple simple simple, then tonal change.

The chorus in "Friends On The Other Side" is a subdued parlor trick until the handshake where the veil drops.

Seeing the entire band is strange and terrifying. A true confluence of art.

Keith David seemed to have so much fun with this role and I think that just adds to it

Keith David is a LEGEND in voice acting (he'll forever be Admiral Anderson from Mass Eefect to me ❤) So knowing this is him singing?! He's so incredibly iconic! Villains always get the best songs 😉

"Friends on The Other Side" is my favorite song of that decade, no question. It would be my favorite of two decades if it wasn't for Moana's "We Know The Way".

The first song is a masterpiece in vocals. You can hear that even his tune @1:26 "put your mind at ease". The subtle way he says it is similar to what tone a hypnotist would use. Its a form of effortless vocal sliding that is often used in meditation audio as well.

Even the very next line "If you relax it will enable me (to do)" is the same relaxing tone.

But the very next line "Anything" I please. That "Anything" changes the tones to one that reveals a deeper malicious intent.

Brilliant vocals.

You caught the funds are "low" but you missed just before that your lifestyles "high" (high note) but your funds are "low" (low note).

Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant.

The best part about friends on the other side is that nothing he says is a lie. It's just true in a way they didn't expect. The a-hole genie effect.

If they make a live action of this I need to see Leslie Odom as Dr Facilier
