NEVER use vinegar on granite countertops. Vinegar is acidic. The acidity can damage the protective sealant that keeps
granite safe from stains and etching. Over time, using vinegar can lead to dullness and permanent damage to the surface.

Your beautiful covered boxes would be great for baby shower and wedding shower gift boxes. Stuff with diapers, outfits, or kitchen tools and they have a reusable organizer too.

This reminds me, 46 years ago I was visiting my Gramma, I was going off to college, those were the days before the Walmarts invading small town USA, the days before plastic bins. My Gramma had 3 boxes with lids, about 2 times the size of a shoebox, she had contact paper and I decorated the boxes and used them for under bed storage all throughout college and beyond, who knows, may still be somewhere in my home! Thank you for the memories!

I have been saving the cut off ends of carrots, onions (skins too), garlic, zucchini, green beans - things you would normally throw away, for years. I put them in a gallon zip lock in the freezer. When it’s full, it’s time to make a soup. I transfer the vegetable scraps to a dedicated laundry bag, and place that bag into a pot of boiling water. 30 - 40 minutes later, I have a beautiful, rich, dark vegetable broth as a soup base. Pull out the laundry bag of scraps, strain the liquid into your soup pot. Scraps go into the garden as compost, bag goes to the laundry room to be washed. NOTHING gets wasted.

The brown packing paper that comes with things that are ordered I iron it when a low heat and I make patterns out of it for sewing

Cardboard is also great to use to line the bottom, of the reusable cloth bags when the plastic inserts break apart. I cut the cardboard to fit the bag then Line the cut cardboard with packing tape to make the new insert more durable. I've done this for all my reusable shopping bags and find this to be very helpful

Public school teacher here. If you get any kind of food delivery that comes with disposable (but reusable) ice packs, donate them to your local school nurse. Every single year our nurse winds up using ziplock bags with ice by the end of the year because her regular ice packs don’t always get returned. If you get larger ones, they could also be offered to coaches.

You can put the silica packets in your Jack’o lanterns to keep them from rotting sooner.

I forgot about taking shoe boxes and other boxes and decorate them. I forgot about Dollar Tree peel and stick. Thanks for getting my memories back!

About the silica packets:

We have an automatic litter box (affordable off amazon), and apparently the humidity in summer can make mold grow in the collection bin. Throw a few silica packets in that bin underneath the trash bag and it keeps the moisture levels down and prevents that.
