Why cant u just cash out at 40 repeatedly instead of waiting for bigger cashout, it changes nothing and you can win combats

Random question but in previous sets, was it possible to get identical augments in a row or with different players? First one was maybe a visual bug but I saw a guy who got the same augment twice. And the more annoying one is when two players get an augment hat buffs a specific trait. Happened to me when I ran this Coven augment. Also had a game where three people got the Elderwood augment.
