  I think your wrong about the fact that Micah Bell walking away is a mystery. When your low honor, Micah sees you as better than he is, in being a self-sufficient gunslinger. He sees it as someone being better than him at the way he approaches life. This leads to wanting to shoot you, he wants to better you even if you are sick and already dying. High honor Arthur, is seen as a man with weakness of morality and doing good, yes he's jealous of his position in the gang, but also he understands that he's of weak character, in his eyes. It's now about separating him from the gang rather than beating someone who's he thinks is better than him.

  The message of the whole story is that despite your past, your sins, everything, you always have the chance to save at least one life, you've destroyed thousands of trees but in the end in realizing your wrongs, you plant one tree in hopes of life flourishing onward. High honor isn't some lie to me, it makes sense.

  “Charles isn’t like me, he doesn’t have to try to be good, he just is.” Paraphrased.<br><br>The honor system to me was more the mindset of the character. The law wants them either way.<br><br>High honor Arthur, John, and Jack all hope to be better.<br><br>The low honor versions don’t have any hope at all.

  One explanation I heard for Micah walking away vs shooting Arthur depending on honour is how Micah sees Arthur.<br> With low honour Micah sees Arthur more as a direct rival, someone like him just better, so he feels he has something to prove. &quot;You&apos;re not better than me Morgan&quot;.<br> With high honour Micah sees Arthur more as an obstacle, a capable fighter sure, but mired down by weakness. Now Arthur is no longer a threat in any capacity he means nothing to him.

  I think the devs consider the high honor ending to be the &nbsp;so called &quot;true ending&quot;. The game generally pushes you toward the high honor ending if you do all the side missions. When he commits a clearly evil act during &nbsp;the debt collection main story he contracts TB as punishment but redems himself by trying to help out the man&apos;s family after the man dies as a mission that only triggers with high honor. At the end he realizes the money means nothing, he just wants to see John and his family out safely. From a complete story telling standpoint it makes sense why John would then want to go off and kill Micah latter in the story to advenge Arthur&apos;s death. This choice by John will ultimately lead to his death as well when it leads the Pinkertons back to John&apos;s ranch.

  I love Arthur, but if red dead redemption 2 was based on a true story, Arthur would 100% go down as a ruthless killer and his actions could not be overwritten by him suddenly having a change of heart. To understand what I mean you can try putting yourself in the shoes of Arthurs victims and feeling the pain of getting the news your relative who made an honest living was robbed and killed by a ruthless outlaw.

  I like to think of Arthur in neutral honor because he&apos;s not always a good man, nor is he always a bad man. He&apos;s somewhere in the middle, and the farther the story goes along, you see the scale of honor tip to one side or the other and at the end of the day, it is your choice that leads to Arthur&apos;s destiny.

  imo, the honour system isnt really about how the characters are viewed by other&apos;s but more a reflection of their thoughts. Arthur and john cannot be redeemed for what they have done, but they can still try to do good actions. And thus be redeemed as a person.
