Great video. Thx. Perhaps you should have shown the Nortech-80 at the end. I guess it's not a cigarette boat but it's an extreme boat in every way.

Best all around hull I’ve ever been in was an 80’s 26’ ChrisCraft Scorpion! I believe that hull became a Wellcraft Nova a few years later 👍🏼

These days if you want to smuggle things over water, they simply use a high speed battery powered torpedo, they can make them go serious distances but it’s perfect for off shore deployment. The higher quality versions can be re-used.

Was on liberty from my ship, in dry dock, in '81.
Was admiring a garnet/gold bass boat flake scarab. The dealership owner turned out too be an acquaintance of my father and his friends. I was #1 boat engineer, and he asked me if I'd take throttle position on the boat I was admiring.....4 250merc's. As we idled past the dry dock, a officer saw me and shouted" oh, Hell no....Get back here....."
It was too late, we got out of the channel, and I opened it up. We hit pier 9 in 6 mins.
New owner took possession, bought us drinks, and took us back. They tried putting me before the mast, but the commander couldn't stop laughing at them.
Boats are for the rich

I lived in the Cayman Islands for 7 years in the early 2000’s and apparently Cigarette boats had built great fortunes a few years before that 😂
