  Asalaamu alaykum Ustaad. The hadith that you read that was along the lines of the prohibition of making wudu with what ever that is cooked on the fire, does that mean that we can&apos;t use hot water for wudu or is it saying that you can&apos;t use water left over from cooked food? For example water left from cooked pasta. I hope that you see this comment. Jizakillahu Khayr for the lesson.

  The set up of the brothers arguments is that the issues in a mathhab &nbsp;are all based on the opinion of the Imam of that mathhab, and it is false and misleading, with all due respect. This kind of speech is what halted the spread of the selafi movement and a great injustice. <br><br>A mathhab has issues that are from the Quran, Sunnah and Qiyaas (deduction from Quran and Sunnah). So if you are referring to the latter that is OK but don&apos;t discourage people from asking for fatwas from a mathhab while presenting yourself or people with your short sightedness as being the ones to ask for fatwa. Allah (swt) tells us to ask people of knowledge if we don&apos;t know, full stop. If you claim to follow the Quran, then don&apos;t pick and choose as you like from the revelation.<br><br>Are you claiming that the scholars who have compiled the fatwas, because this is what mathhab books are, are insincere or have other agendas? It shows that you don&apos;t have any knowledge of Usuul.<br><br>If somebody like you comes to someone who has a fatwa from a scholar from a mathhab, do you expect him to trust you that you have compared your evidence and have looked it from all angles, and that what you are saying is true? Is that not swapping your fatwa for another?. In my humble opinion, what you are saying is don&apos;t follow anyone else except me this is just another way of indoctrinating others to your opinions. <br><br><br>Allah (swt) says ask the people of knowledge if you don&apos;t know, and it is implied that you follow because why would ask if you don&apos;t follow. You also have mentioned that Allah (swt) said: we should obey Allah and Obey the Messenger and the people who have authority over you, is that not another evidence that we should follow and obey the scholars in issues we have no knowledge of?<br><br>May Allah guide us!

  I say respectfully The truth is majority of the people like myself have no idea what half the words that came out of your mouth meant. &nbsp;<a href="https://www.youtube.com/hashtag/laymen">#Laymen</a><br><br>Is it not better that we follow a madhab?<br>I understand if learned scholars practice Ijtihaad but everyone should not.<br> Is my understanding correct?
