I had a PCOS and endomitosis diagnosis. After my period never having regulated from the start, excruciating pain and fainting starting when I was about 16, I got the PCOS diagnosis when I was about 26 after a number of doctors blew me off. I had surgery for endometriosis when I was about 33. When I had a hysterectomy (kept my ovaries and cervix) I was 37 and my uterus was "mushy" as my doctor reported. That's how I learned about adenomyosis. When I worked at a call center and would be in so much pain I couldn't move and would pass out, the female ongyn told me she wouldn't help me with FMLA so I could leave work if it got too bad and not lose my job... She told me "I'm not getting you out of work for bad cramps". So many times I'd take baths in the middle of the night because the pain was so bad, cry and consider calling 911.... My landlord wanted to increase my rent for water usage.

My biggest struggle was always being taken seriously about my health.

I have always thought it shocking that cramps/painful periods are considered 'normal' & a woman's 'cross to bear'. As a person who never experiences menstrual cramps during my cycle, I think that THIS is what we should strive for as normal. It is unacceptable that women suffer this way. THANK YOU for advocating for women. 💙💙

I just got diagnosed with diffuse adenomyosis (and stage 3 endo) at age 31 during a laparoscopy to remove a 8cm ovarian cyst. I had my third baby 5 months ago and ever since I got my period back since having her my reproductive system has been making my life miserable.
In 4 months I’m getting endometriosis excision surgery and possibly hysterectomy.

Joyful Day! I'm so glad I came across your video. Adenomyosis definitely needs more attention, and educating women. I'm having post menopausal spotting. One surgeon recommended D & C, and the other hysterectomy. I chose D & C. Thank you kindly for doing this video!!!!!

My adenomyosis wasn't diagnosed until I had a hysterectomy in 2016 because my periods were so ridiculously heavy and the back pain was agonizing. My gynecologist came to me after the surgery and said I had the biggest, ugliest, lumpiest, uterus she's ever seen. My hysterectomy was one of the best things I've ever done.

I suffered for almost 20 years before being diagnosed. I tried a copper iud 6 months after delivering my 2nd son, but I bled so incredibly heavy for every period for 3 months, I'm talking having to put 2 overnight size pads on to cover from front to back waistband and having to go home from work because I was having to change them every 15-30 minutes. During my 3rd month ultrasound to check placement I was bleeding so heavily my doctor was shocked. The iud had shifted and I had to have it removed. I tried constant birth control and spotted for 10 months so, in my case, a hysterectomy at 35 was my only option. I was done having kids and I was done putting up with it.

I am 47 years old. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis 6 years ago after suffering with severe cramping for several years. Oddly enough, i never had a single menstrual cramp until I had a miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy (twins, and apparently the fetus outside the uterus caused my body to miscarry the other.). After that, i started having cramps monthly and they, along with the bleeding, progressively got worse. Then i had a viable pregnancy and gave birth. After that everything got so much worse. IUD has helped a lot, but there are still cramps. Menopause is right around the corner though at this point 🤞

I am having a hysterectomy (including ovaries taken) in two days. I was diagnosed through vaginal ultrasound. I am actually looking forward to this because the pain is horrible and have been menstruating for 5 months. I'm exhausted and ready for a new chapter in my life.

I had imaging done of my uterus somewhat recently and the radiologist's report said possible adenomyosis, recommend MRI to confirm. I asked two OGBYNs what that meant and why we werent doing the MRI and they said it didnt matter because the treatment options I was trying were going to be the same. OK, fine I'll accept that - but wouldnt it be a good idea to confirm diagnosis so it's a known entity in my chart? What if that knowledge is useful in the future? I dont know, personally I feel like it was dismissed, just like my symptoms have been for 20 freaking years.
