  My father used to have big yam bush in Cumberland.  He planted pumpkin in between to keep down weeds like devil horse whip 🌱

  The price for yellow yam in Florida is $6.99 per pound. The sentiment here is that the price is too high. So, for yellow yam to sell for higher prices on the foreign market will pose a problem. Perhaps it’s time to look at products like yam chips or other similar products to grow the yam market.

  There needs to be a yam farmers association. &nbsp;This is crazy. &nbsp;<br>Most Jamaicans love yam, especially yellow yam. It&apos;s sad i understand their plight. Still the yam has to be priced so that everyone benefits. I pray that someone come up with a solution. &nbsp;I said it before and saying it again every parish needs to become self sufficient with farming. Thank you for h highlighting this.

  The ministry of agriculture needs to bring back the farmers &nbsp;cooperative. Produce must be &nbsp;monitored to stabilize cost, price, and distribution to island wide markets, minimize waste and loss 🙏

  The people who sell the yam 🍠 to us are ripping off the farmers. So the farmers need to stick up for the prices
