Alcohol abuse was a major problem when I was growing up. I didn’t get a chance to see the Soviet Union collapse, but I saw and lived through many of its consequences.<br><br>It was a fairly small town with a population of about 10,000, but man, people loved their moonshine.<br><br>I realize now how lucky I am to have my parents. They basically gave me their entire life savings to give me the opportunity to go to the USA. It completely changed my worldview. But I ended up building my life in Canada 🇨🇦 and I love it!<br><br>I also believe that the environment made me grittier and built resilience in me. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, I guess.
