  It&apos;s pretty annoying how Aldia is not at all mentioned in Dark Souls 3, he was such a detrimental character, he essentially broke the curse for himself and became an eternal being. Wasted opportunity.

  Makes sense for Vendrick to be afraid of humans who wouldn&apos;t die. I mean, when you think about it, the Dark Souls protagonists&apos; canon ability to respawn, while looking like nothing more than a game mechanic explained by lore, is an incredibly scary ability for a character to have. It doesn&apos;t matter how many groups of monsters, or of soldiers, or gods or dragons kills the Chosen Undead/Bearer of the Curse/Ashen One, they always return, but now armed with more knowledge of their enemies&apos; strengths, not to mention how they can slowly become stronger by gathering souls. Our protagonists are never-ending beings, and if they decide to face someone, the latter is likely doomed (save for a few exceptions).

  Mad respect to Vendrick for embracing the dark. Sitting pondering the dark just like the hex teachers. Unlike Gwyn he had some balls. Just to go hollow in the end after fighting it so long. Sad but tuff

  Even after all these years, I still believe dark souls 2 SOTFS has one of the best storylines in the entire series. I absolutely love Aldias musings at the end of the game if you choose to abandon the first flame and not link it.
