Fado de Amália Rodrigues | As Mais Belas Canções de Fado Português

#fado #portuguesemusic #amaliarodrigues In this video, you can enjoy 3 hours of traditional Portuguese music inspired by the soul of Amália Rodrigues, known as Fado Português. Dubbed Rainha do Fado (Queen of Fado), Amália was instrumental in popularising fado worldwide and travelled internationally throughout her career. This unique collection is all about love, saudade, terra and adoração: deep devotion expressed through the most beautiful heartbreak. Saudade, Amor & Terra Natal... and of course Amália Rodrigues. Those are themes Amália often used, and this collection also features a few songs directly references the legendary Amália Rodrigues, a tribute to her. All songs are performed by Lúcia Barbosa, who grew up listening to Amália and adores her. The reason she wanted to be a Fado singer is to pay homage to her and to keep the tradition of Fado alive, bringing it to universal listeners. Fado is a unique and emotional form of music that originated in Lisbon in the 1820s and has since become an essential part of Portuguese culture. ** sorry about the black screen parts in the first 2 minutes of the video, my fault in editing and I didn't want to cut out the first song 💓 ** Fado is believed to have originated in Lisbon's Alfama neighborhood, where sailors and working-class people gathered in small taverns to sing about their lives, love, and longing. Over time, the genre evolved into something deeply poetic and expressive — carrying the essence of saudade and timeless emotion. Inspired by the legendary voice of Amália Rodrigues, this video brings together the spirit of devotion (adoração), love, and memory through authentic Fado sounds. Fado music is typically played on string instruments such as the Portuguese guitar, a pear-shaped instrument with twelve strings. 🔔 Thanks for watching!
