The Smyrna episode is not well explained....There was the allied fleet that could have avoided the massacre and destruction of the city.....but they just did nothing ...Why ? Because there were changes in the leadership in Athens from Venizelist to Royalists and the allies did not support what they considered pro German political rulers during the war......If the Venizelists were still in power in Athens the allied would have helped to avoid the catastrophy and massacre in Smyrna.Their fleet was there....
