The funny thing is that humans "kept up" with computers for a while precisely because of intuition. Computers were checking every possible move, whereas humans could ignore obviously bad options like putting your knight in the corner....

When you see a threat you can't stop, find a counter threat that your opponent can't stop. Something that has helped me a lot over the years figuing out when to stop defending and fight back
