  Unfortunately, just because your chemistry is right, doesn&apos;t mean your lives and personalities compliment each other to the point where a relationship is possible.<br><br>Love is a great start, hard work and commitment makes the relationship function in the long run.

  Watched the whole thing, and here are my two cents about it:<br><br>They both did love each other, but sometimes love isn’t enough to keep two people together. Their lifestyles greatly contrasted each other’s, and they constantly got into arguments because of this. The end of their relationship was bound to happen, since neither of them really acknowledged their problems. <br><br>And I know from the comments that a lot of people are really confused about the ending. They finally met each other again, only to see a little girl falling on her face (which, by the way, made me laugh so hard). I’m probably just overanalyzing things, but I think it signifies a new start for the both of them. Remember when Kate saved her back when she was a kid? “Are you okay?” were what she asked her. That’s where, in my opinion, it all started. And now she’s saying those exact same words to the little kid who tripped. See the parallels? No? Maybe it’s just me.

  My take on the ending is that the girl at the end represents the fact that Christy died in the swimming pool and despite Kate&apos;s best efforts to save her she didn&apos;t make it. Therefore the entire &quot;love story&quot; is just a product of Kate&apos;s imagination and the girl falling on that last scene brings her back to reality. That&apos;s why Christy is nowhhere to be seen after the girl&apos;s fall.

  The director leaves it ambiguous, but to me film explores different types of love. &nbsp;And while Kate and Christy truly did genuinely love each other, it felt more of a maternal nature. &nbsp;They are at different stages of life and the past care-taker role that Kate played for Christy when they were younger made a realistic alignment between them impossible. &nbsp; I hope that last scene.... where Kate comforts the fallen child.... will help her realize that she was carrying that same care-taker role through with Christy when they were together as lovers. &nbsp;Beautiful film!
