Personally, I mostly aim to just have any cadence when I run my half marathons

Daniel is all of us when we try to do B-skips for the first time. I need the next video to be entirely on drills because I’m struggling over here too! 😅

Hi Phily, not sure maybe you have done this in the past but I would love a vid on teaching us the best running drills. I’m still having difficulties with the b-skips and would love your expertise and tips on how to do these better. ❤ the grind!😘

Loving the slightly unhinged energy in this video 😂 Needless to say, there are no shortcuts to success but people sure will keep trying to find (and sell) them 😑

The dinosaur image at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXstMMXc81A&amp;t=173">2:53</a> made me lol.😂

im a simple man, i see a Phily video &amp; I click it. Its refreshing to hear you mention height vs cadence, im 6ft 4 (191cm) and almost never break 170 cadence no matter how fast I run (<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXstMMXc81A&amp;t=83">1:23</a> half marahon PB)

Comparing my cadence to a middle distance elite, i might as well compare it to a thoroughbred horse

The thing thats helped me most when thinking about cadence is shortening my stride running up hills and also when I&apos;m getting tired. Moving my legs over &apos;quicker&apos; can help me feel less sluggish in those final stages of a marathon and gives me the feeling of being lighter on my feet - I think it&apos;s sometimes referred to as the &apos;Ironman shuffle&apos;.

Yesterday I worked on my cadence and had a <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CXstMMXc81A&amp;t=28">0:28</a> second improvement per mile, but I was over striding so there&apos;s that, and I was actually focusing on not over striding instead of cadence.

I have found a genuine difference in increasing my cadence, BUT that was because my cadence was around 150-155 and now it’s up around 170 at race paces, still around 160-165 on easy runs. It’s pretty simple, as effort and speed increases so does my cadence

Cadence is a factor of physics - within the parameters of your bodies dimensions - and pace. If you&apos;re really slow like me (at my 5k + 2 mins pace) then at 180 rpm I would be like one of the cartoon characters in Road Runner. As your pace increases (to Phily proportions &lt; 4m30) then your cadence will naturally increase towards the magic 180 rpm - because that is what it takes to stay upright. Maybe I am oversimplifying but surely you need to land a foot on the ground every now and then. It&apos;s physics and Phily is spot on here - the fitter your get, the faster you go, the more magic that cadence will feel. FYI I have been running fairly consistently for 2 years and only get close to 170ish on tempo runs
