  The very first thing I thought when it wouldn&apos;t come off due to water was to get a knife and literally cut it off.<br> You just saw these beetles eating a living creature , you find one latched onto and burrowing into your body but...you can&apos;t be bothered because you had &quot;other stuff&quot; to do? Natural Selection.

  I feel like this story can encapsulate the absurdity and helplessness people with chronic illnesses feel.<br>One day, you’re starting to notice symptoms and you try to mange it. It progresses and the doctor might dismiss it, you isolate yourself. Then, it gets so bad that you’re hospitalized.<br>Sometimes it can go away, like maybe a cancer goes into remission. <br>I would definitely say this story conveys that same journey or it serves as an artistic representation of the cruelty of it. It’s just a virus doing its thing, it’s just a demonic beetle doing its thing. This is like a guy taking hostages but he doesn’t make demands and just keeps taking them out one by one

  This one has gotten into my head and I am not going to look into any mirrors or acknowledging any feelings that feel like a bite. I can’t deal with a ghost beetle.
